    He wasn't slapping/rebuking the woman per se, but the rude demon in her. It was a spiritual slap even though it looked physical

    p.s. i'm sure some people will believe this.

  2. His actions are indefensible IMHO and I consider it an assault on an ignorant, defenseless young woman for which he needs to answer for. Jesus did not go about slapping people all in the name of casting out demons. Far too often, some Nigerians hide under the cover of religion to commit all sorts of atrocities that sadly go unpunished. Most of our problems are self-inflicted but sometimes we're quick to blame it on 'demons' or 'ancestors' that we know nothing about.

    These things have gone on for a while in Nigeria and remained unchallenged but I believe enough is enough. The real demons in Nigeria are those who continue to rip Nigerians off their common wealth; politicians and some pastors fall into this category.

    Don: INSANE is the word. And THAT is the question. The answer may not be as straightforward as you could probably see from the comments here. To some Nigerians, their pastor is like GOD. For some, scrap god. Simply insert pastor...Pastor has replaced GOD for them, so to slap him would be unthinkable. Also, there is the very real threat that she might not leave that church alive if she had slapped him back. INSANE and worrying, but true. I kid you not!
